How do I make the tempo speed up?
Set the starting BPM, then use the duration control (how many bars each step lasts) and the tempo-increase control (how many BPM to add). Press Start. Smaller increases give better control.
How do I save a practice setup?
Tap Presets, then + to save the current settings. Tap a preset to load it. Deleting a preset is done from the same list.
Connecting MIDI
Turn MIDI on in the app, then connect a device:
- USB: plug the device in — it appears automatically. Note: on a Mac, if this iPad is enabled in Audio MIDI Setup, its audio is routed to the Mac; disable it there to hear the click on the iPad again.
- Bluetooth (Mac): on the Mac open Audio MIDI Setup, choose Window → Show MIDI Studio, click the Bluetooth icon and broadcast the Mac. In Metro Step press and hold MIDI, choose the Mac, then click Connect on the Mac.
- Wi-Fi (Mac): in MIDI Studio double-click Network, click + under My Sessions and tick the session, select your device under Directory, then click Connect. Both must be on the same Wi-Fi network.
The app opens the same steps in-app from the MIDI button.
No sound?
- Check the volume — Metro Step plays through the silent switch.
- If MIDI is connected over USB to a Mac, see the Audio MIDI Setup note above.
